Today’s Thankful Thursday was an answer to the age-long question, “how long does it take to give away 300 cupcakes?” The definitive answer: about 12 minutes.
It’s funny–when you work in a giant office building, you see the same vaguely familiar faces in the elevator and lobby day-in and day-out, but it’s easy to go weeks, months, or even years without really getting to know your neighbors. So, how does a small web development company solve this problem? As Sarah Ockler said, “I’ve never met a problem a proper cupcake couldn’t fix.” With that in mind, we headed over to Heavenly Cupcakes, picked up 300 cupcakes, and set up a table in the lobby of our building. We topped it off with a huge sign that read, “You’re Awesome. Have a Cupcake,” and we started handing out cupcakes.
Within 12 minutes, we made more new friends in our building than we did within the first 12 weeks of moving in. Moral of the story? Nothing says, “be my friend,” like a cake in a cup.
